Description
Devex is currently assisting an international health consulting organization in finding a Deputy Chief of Party in charge of Performance & Results Management for a USAID-funded HIV/AIDS Community Care Program.
Position Background
The Deputy Chief of Party, Performance & Results Management works in close collaboration with the COP and serves as a member of the Project Executive Management Team and acts on behalf of the COP in his absence. He/she participates in the determination of partner scopes of work and the negotiation of performance indicators and targets to assure that expectations and required results are fully understood. He/she works with the COP and IHCCP M&E staff and Technical cluster leaders and Grants Manager to track the progress of performance-based arrangements and must certify progress and results prior to payment by the project of any performance incentives or confirmation of continuing grant support.
He/she serves as a key part of the M&E team to analyze and document project results and impact, compile reports, and assure transparency in the performance data system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Advanced degree in Management, Public Health, or other related field.
- Management experience of large, complex USAID funded health projects required. Experience in Haiti preferred.
- Senior experience in performance management system design and implementation preferred.
- Significant background in health program design and management (HIV/AIDS, MCH, FP, and -or TB).
- Well established communication and negotiation capacities.
- Record of effective management of human and material resources on a large scale.
- Well-developed capacity to provide supportive supervision to a broad range of technical areas.
- Fluency in French
Position Details
Location: Port Au Prince, Haiti
Length of Contract: The project's duration is set for 6 years.
The project is anticipated to begin in August 2009.
Travel within Haiti is involved.
